New Patients

Free Smile Consultation (Value $299)New Patient Experience.

Your new patient experience will be totally thorough, whether you require minimal or extensive dental interventions.

There are four possible new appointment types, and when you call to schedule your first appointment, we’ll determine which is best for you. Here are the possible types:

Extensive oral exam:

This option takes an hour and thirty minutes. One of our doctors will ask you all about your dental and medical history, your current concerns, condition, and goals. In an extensive oral exam, we will take measurements and make evaluations based on your mouth’s current condition. After Dr. Sosa or Dr. McLaughlin has collected all the measurements and x-rays necessary, they will either discuss your treatment options with you on the same day, or ask you to return at a later time for a more in-depth consultation, allowing them time to review and study your dental health needs.

Initial exam and cleaning:

This option takes two hours and thirty minutes. You’ll meet with our hygienist first, and she will review your oral health concerns. She will also take x-rays and perform a screening for gum disease. If you have gum disease, we will ask you to return for a full and deep cleaning to combat the infection. Once the hygienist is through, one of our doctors will do a full evaluation based on your mouth’s condition. Dr. Sosa or Dr. McLaughlin will either discuss your treatment options with you on the same day, or ask you to return at a later time for a more in-depth consultation so that they have time to review and study your dental health needs.

TMJ-focused exam:

If you have pain in your jaw joints, your face, your neck, or your shoulder, this exam may be right for you. For an hour and thirty minutes, Dr. McLaughlin or Dr. Sosa will make a thorough examination of your jaw, complete necessary x-rays, and ask you a host of questions regarding your dental and physical health history. Dr. McLaughlin or Dr. Sosa may review your treatment options with you following the exam, or they may call you back at a later time for an in-depth consultation so that they honor your trust with adequate time, and also so they have the opportunity to review and study your jaw joint.

Emergency exam:

Maybe you’re the kind of person who does not call the dentist unless there’s a dental emergency. If so, don’t worry. No judgement. We will take such excellent care of you that we’re sure you’ll want to continue your treatment. Our doctors will offer an immediate solution to your problem, and then invite you back for a more complete examination and treatment plan. Emergency visits may result in a referral to a specialist.
